New Site, New lens: Why I’m Widening the Conversation
It’s been a while. If you’ve been checking back and finding nothing new since January, fair enough, I believe you deserve a straight answer, not a disappearing act.
Short version: the last 6 months went into building something instead of writing about building things.
Between working on the CAGED app for the past 6 months and everything else that goes into actually launching a product instead of just talking about launching one, the blog took a back seat.
That’s on me. It’s also, as it turns out, the best possible reason to come back. Mostly because I’ve got a lot more to talk about now than I did in January.
So, let’s get back into it. But not exactly the way we left off.
The Old Lens

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know where this started. My first blog, howlingforsuccess.com, was built around one thing: affiliate marketing.
What works, what doesn’t, what the “get rich quick” crowd won’t tell you, and what it actually takes to make a little money pointing people toward good offers.
That site isn’t going anywhere. It did what it was supposed to do, and there’s still good information sitting there for anyone starting from zero.
But somewhere over the last few years, the question I was actually trying to answer got bigger than affiliate marketing could hold.
The New Lens
marcbedard.ca exists because the real question was never “how do you make affiliate marketing work.”
It’s “what does it actually take to make a business flourish online” and affiliate marketing is one answer to that question, not the whole answer.
Twenty-five years across banking, government work, consulting, and voice-over gigs taught me a version of that lesson long before I ever touched a computer for a living.
The last several years online, including these past three years learning inside Dean Holland’s community, taught me the digital version of it.
Building the CAGED app with my business partner from an idea into an app with a launch date has taught me the version you only learn by actually making something of your own.
So that’s the shift. Same person, same honesty about what works and what’s noise, but a wider lens.
Sales strategy, marketing systems, product launches, mentorship, the occasional hard lesson, all of it, because running a business online definitely looks like that. Not one tactic in isolation.
What’s Coming

Over the next few weeks, I want to do two things before we get fully into new territory:
First, I’ll walk back through the last 8 years (give or take); what actually moved the needle, what didn’t, and what I’d tell myself if I could go back to day one. Not a highlight reel. The real version.
Second, on August 3rd, my CAGED app officially launches.
That app is the clearest proof I have of everything this wider lens is about.
Building something you own instead of only pointing people toward someone else’s offer.
I’ll be sharing the numbers, the mistakes, and what happens after launch day just as honestly as I’ve tried to share everything else here.
If you’re new here: welcome. If you’ve been around since the howlingforsuccess.com days: thanks for sticking with me through the quiet stretch. Either way, glad to be back and there’s a lot more coming.
Trust the journey, victories await along the way.
Marc

Marc – I am really glad to see you back and I have to admit I was beginning to think you had been abducted by your own app. It turns out you were just busy doing what so many people talk about but never actually do, building something real.
I love the wider lens because business is never just one thing and neither are the people behind it. I am excited to follow the journey and I have a feeling August is going to be a very fun month for you. Congratulations my friend and keep making us all look lazy.
Hi Ernie,
Thanks for the comment and making me smile!
I definitely look forward to getting all of those experiences down on “paper” and recorded! It’s been quite the journey and I definitely am looking forward to the next months!
